BSA Artists' Work Included in National Arts Club Event
The National Arts Club in Gramercy is hosting its 22nd annual Inspiring Arts Education Summit the week of May 12th and Broome Street Academy is proud to be a featured exhibitor. The artwork of several BSA students will be featured in the National Art Club's Trask Gallery and a select group of our students will participate in a mural painting with famed artist, Inocente.
Inocente was formerly a homeless teen who used art to find her way out of bleak surroundings. She was the focus of a documentary (Inocente) that won the Academy Award for best documentary short subject. As an artist that many of our students can relate to, Inocente will be visiting BSA to discuss the documentary and her inspiring story.
The Summit's Opening Reception (7-9pm) and the preceding screening of Inocente (5:30pm) on May 15th are open to the public and we welcome all to join in admiring the artwork of many talented young people. Check out event details on Facebook. The National Arts Club is located at 15 Gramercy Park South.
